Title........................Environmental Challenges.

 

Description.............Cash grants to schools, classroom teachers, school clubs

                               and organizations for innovative hands-on projects that

                               help students learn about the environment and how to

                               solve local environmental problems.

 

Target

Audience................K-12 schools, teachers, clubs organizations.

 

 

Cost.......................They pay you! Grants run $100-750/project, to a maximum

                               of $25,000 per grantee.

 

Location.................Your school or project location.

 

Dates/Times...........By arrangement.

requirements..........Depends on project you design.

Other Notes..........Supported by HEB and the Texas Conservation Fund. Past

                             grants have gone for activities from art to languages as

                             well as science and math, e.g., building xeriscapes, nature

                             trails and habitats; installing bat houses; studying creek

                             water quality; restoring a wetland; creating recycling

                             programs; creating habitat guides and slide shows;

                             building fish ponds; creating educational materials for

                             check-out or posting on the World Wide Web. A San

                             Antonio math class did data studies on Edwards Aquifer

                             issues.
